Seaton Panto present this year’s production Dick Whittington, at Seaton Town Hall this week.
Once again the script is another hilarious offering from the pen of Alan Frayne (with the occasional local and topical additions).
Popular local characters have been cast with the incomparable Dame Ian Waite as Dolly, Phil Christmas (at his nastiest) as King Rat and Debbie Bradley (at her silliest) as Fairy Bowbells.
The principal parts of Alice, Idle Jack and Tom Cat are played by talented 12-year-olds Rosie Manley, Ben Oyo and Jessica Hill and the thigh slapping Dick Whittington by Kym Cross, who makes a welcome return to the group after University.
Comedy duo Mick Redston and Adam Tedbury play Captain and Scupper (Dumb and Dumber), Brian Blackwood is the ‘rat troubled’ Sultan of Morocco and Ian Craig, who was a ‘baddie’ last year has softened to play Alice’s kind father, Alderman Fitzwarren.
A strong cast backed by a strong chorus of members who play various parts as villagers, sailors and rats. The question on everybody’s lips is; will Cullen the Seaton Panto pet chicken make an appearance this year with a cat around, you’ll have to go along to find out!
Seaton Panto has gained a reputation for giving first class traditional panto entertainment for all the family and this, their 12th year, director Mary Bowles is hoping for another sell out week!
The performances have been purposely staggered with starting times to try and suit everybody, Thursday and Friday at 7pm, Saturday matinee at 3pm and the last performance on Sunday at 6pm.
It runs from Thursday, February 9 to Sunday, February 12.
Tickets are now on sale at the Seatons Voice box office at the Town Hall, Monday to Saturday 10am to 1pm. Telephone 01297 625699.
