● Gardeners are in for a treat when they get the chance to hear the story of how a garden was restored after it had lain abandoned for years.

On Monday, February 20, Chris and Judy Yates will tell the story of how they turned their walled garden from a neglected wilderness to a thing of beauty.

Around the time that Heligan in Cornwall was being re-discovered, the Yates were transforming their old Victorian estate kitchen-garden in Dorset, which had lain abandoned and unloved for 15 years. They created a new scented garden which was opened to visitors.

The talk starts at 7.30pm, at Musbury Village Hall committee room.

There will be refreshments and a raffle, with Musbury Garden Club members being charged £1.50, and non-members £2.50.

● Tres Geezers will be performing at the Nags Head, in Lyme Regis, on Wednesday, March 7.

This will be followed by gigs on Friday, March 9, at The Green Dragon Combe St Nicholas, near Chard, Saturday, March 10, at The Lamb Inn, Axminster and Sunday, March 11, The White Hart, Colyford. Lunchtime.

The band members are guitarist/vocalist Ryk Mead, who has played alongside some of the music industries greats, from the late sixties to the present.

Bassist/vocalist Mick Hawksworth, whose reputation grew in the 1960s and 1970s with such cult bands as Andromeda and Fuzzy Duck.

Drummer/vocalist Chris Sharley has provided crisp and solid performances since the 1970s.

Now together they are Tres Geezers, a tour de force. “Fly Guitars”, have recently approached the band for insights into original developments. See www.flyguitars.com/interviews/mickhawksworth6.php
