Banish those winter blues and join Axminster Operatic Society on board the liner the SS American in Cole Porter’s fabulous show Anything Goes.

This show is one of the greatest musicals of all time.

Written in 1934, Anything Goes portrays all the glitz and glamour of the age with great songs such as Anything Goes, Blow Gabriel, Blow, and All Through the Night.

Combine iconic songs with dance routines, wonderful costumes and a genuinely amusing script and you have the recipe for a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Denise Churchett, the director of Anything Goes, said: “This is the first show I have directed with Axminster Operatic Society and I am really enjoying the experience.

“We have a great and talented cast and they are working really hard to make sure that you, the audience, have a truly memorable evening.”

Anything Goes runs until Saturday, November 17, beginning at 7.30pm in the Guildhall, in Axminster.

A matinee performance is also being held on the Saturday beginning at 2.30pm.

Tickets are available from the Archway Bookshop in Axminster, telephone 01297 33595.

Los Pacaminos come to Exmouth

On a bleak November day in London in 1993, singer Paul Young was pondering how to break the album/promotion/tour routine that to be honest, was becoming a little predictable after 10 years of being a solo performer. And anyway, he missed the camaraderie of just being a band member. So he called around some of his friends and members of his previous line-ups through the years to find out who would be interested in forming a loose, relaxed Tex-Mex group for some impromptu gigs.
