Young Wasps prove too hot to handle for CTC

Junior Wasps 74, CTC 7

Junior Wasps produced an outstanding all-round performance to brush aside the challenge of CTC.

The start of first quarter saw an explosive beginning from with CTC very much on the front foot, but thwarted on many occasions by the industrial Wasps’ duo of Zoe Gresham and Kerry Angila.

At the other end of the court, the busy trio of Emily Steer, Emily Came and Phoebe Slee provided ample chances for Rebecca Barnes and Mel Mugford to score and it was Wasps who held the advantage at the end of the first quarter.

With no changes to either team it was more of the same after the break.

Wasps continued to be the dominant force as they waltzed around the D with eye-catching speed of passing and again they out scored their opponents who managed just two goals in this period.

The third periods saw the Wasps’ switch a number of players and positions, but it did little to break their impressive movement and handling.

This left the third quarter once again very much in their favour, underlined by the fact that CTCV, managed just three goals in this period.

The final quarter saw Wasps revert to the formation and player positions they had begun the match with and they were once again dominant in all areas of the court, scoring further goals and sealing a most comprehensive victory.
