It would seem that dedication and passion definitely have priority for some young tennis players as they made their way through the tempestuous weather last Monday for a special training session before the Christmas break.
Seven of Exmouth’s East Devon Tennis Academy’s 10 and under squad trained with some of the best 10 and under players from West Hants, High Performance Tennis Centre, Bournemouth.
The session was led by Liam Storey (Exmouth performance coach) together with assistance from Nikki Trelease (coach, Exmouth), Aviran Reuvan (coach, West Hants) and Mark Reid (West Hants director of tennis).
Director of Tennis, West Hants).
The session comprised of some warm-ups, ball control drills, basket drills and then a team match to finish with Exmouth narrowly beating West Hants in points.
A watching parent said: “This is the second time that the two clubs have joined forces to train their talented youngsters and we are really looking forward to visiting West Hants again very soon. A huge plus with going up there (Bournemouth) is it gives the youngsters an opportunity to play on clay courts. A huge vote of thanks is necessary to the coaches for organising all this.”
