Hemyock 2, Woodbury 0
A new-look Woodbury first team were dumped out of the County Cup at the first time of asking.
In a bright start by the Woods a JG Leaper long throw was met with a scissor-kick by striker Karl Smith and the ball fizzed just over the bar.
Woodbury continued to boss the first half, but the nearest they came to a goal was when Tim Dunn fired wide.
After the break Tim Dunn was replaced by Declan Bourne, but not before he had so nearly squirmed through but a last gasp tackle prevented him getting a strike in on goal with any accuracy.
Sam Glanvill Ford was doing well at the back and Richie Ralph and Peter Wright in the centre midfield area were working hard against decent opposition.
Dan Fulls was busy too in the second period and was looking dangerous against a solid defence.
Charlie Page was replaced by Andy Bennett and another Leaper long throw beat everyone in the home penalty area and drifted harmlessly wide.
Woods glovesman Simon Evans pulled off a superb save as the game moved into its final quarter.
The deadlock was broken in the 70th minute with the hosts netting via a slick counter-attack.
With a minute left, Woodbury failed to get their blocks in and Hemyock sealed victory with a second.
The Woods Man of the Match award went to young Luke Skinner for great work up and down the left flank.
Woodbury: Simon Evans, San Glanvill-Ford, JG Leaper, Charlie Page (Andy Bennett), Terry Skeggs, Luke Skinner, Tim Dunn (Declan Bourne), Richie Ralph, Peter Wright, Dan Fulls, Karl Smith.
