Up here on the common we continue to keep up with the means to book a golf slot, and in competition mode, to see the results all in the same day, on ‘Intelligent Golf’, writes John Bridgman.

This computerised piece of wizardry can analyse your game for you plus many other recorded scores.

So, who has appeared this week in prime positions?

In last week’s midweek stableford it was James Hill who took the honours with 40 points from, in second place, David McGregor on 39. Lee Dumbreck was third, scoring 38 points.

The weekend competition was a four-ball better ball competition stableford.

David McGregor and Chaz Turner romped home with 49 points.

The minor places were determined across the back nine with Ian Henderson and Lee Dumbreck edging Neil Gauntlett and James Stewart into third place after both pairs scored 48 points.

The Woodbury Park seniors played ‘Ducks and Drakes’ in three-man teams.

Steve Robb, Derek Knights and Simon Davies scored a handsome 92 points to win the competition. Second place went to Andrzej Sobczak, Derek Knight and Malcolm Pledger with 87. Dave Freeman, Brian Leonard and Steve Unsworth were third on 80 points.

Finally, the Winter League was settled with the outright winner being Rob Dart with his score of 52 points.

John Man took the runners-up spot with a score of 40 which was also the final score for Derek Knight who had to settle for third place.

So, another week has passed us by and much good golf has been played. It seems the handicap secretary will be pouring over the scoring of one or two people, bearing in mind how well they have been playing, eh!

Happy whacking one and all. Cheers, John.
