By contrast to the previous week’s revelations, last week was a quiet one at Woodbury Park, writes John Bridgman.

Life goes on as they say, and yes, Dave Freeman goes from strength to strength playing in the seniors’ team stableford.

First on this occasion were the trio of Ian Marvin, Don Johns and Roy Barber with 78 points. In second place Derek Knights, Ian Scott and Adrian Foster with their score of 69 and third place went to John Man, Dave Freeman and Ray Dwan with a score of 65.

Last Saturday saw a non qualifier, individual stableford played. The Division One winner was Paul Crafer with 36 points and Chaz Turner edged into second with 35 points. A further point behind was Ian Darville taking third spot.

The Division Two winner was David Dickinson with 35 points, second was Chris Turner 35 (on countback), and Ian Darville claimed third place with 34.

Division Three saw Steve Robb win with 38 points. Second was Richard Jenner with 32 after countback was used to separate him and Jeff Kamester who was placed third.

Heavy rainfall has on the odd chance limited the use of trolleys and buggies, but we must all remember these restrictions are for the good of our course and we should thank Ian Chenery and his green keepers for the sterling work they have done in such a difficult time. Well done, fellahs. What lies ahead? I wonder – good golfing everyone!
