The weather has changed somewhat to that which we have been subjected to and the golfers are now out and about in significant numbers in all competitions, so lets see who the lucky ones are this week, writes John Bridgman.

The midweek medal winner was Richard Wallace with a nett 69. Second place went to Graham Bryant with his nett 70 and third to John Dick with his 70, his final berth determined by countback.

The senior element came out in force to play a Waltz Time stableford , three-man team game with John Man, Ray Dwan and Bryan Smith, 77 points, holding off second place team of Steve Childs, Adrian Foster and Peter Stone on 76.

Next home were the trio of Norman Periera, Ian Fry and Malcolm Pledger on 74 points. There has been an air of sadness about the club with the passing of Ian Marvin while holidaying in America.

Our thoughts and prayers have been with the family at this time.

Last weekend saw a bumper field of members enjoying a stableford competition.

The Division One winner was Colin Wilson 38 points, edging out Chaz Turner on countback after he too posted a score of 38. Master Oli Cowl came third with 37.

Greg Crosse won Division Two with 37, second on 34 was Tony Marshall, and third Neil Rice also on 34.

Division Three saw the overall competition winner Steve Robb, 42 points, beat Richard Perry into second place in the division, leaving Eric Hill third on 36 points.

The ladies were also out and about playing in the Warren Crocus qualifier and Paula O’Neill, Sara Beaven, Mickie Ward and Kay Foster will go through to play in the final at Dawlish Warren later this year.

So, that’s about it, but I’m sure next time a few new faces will be reported upon, Cheers for now and happy golfing everyone, John.
