The ladies’ second round of the Mail on Sunday event should have been played at East Devon, but unfortunately, for the second time in this round, the weather was unkind and the match was called off once again. A third date has been set and fingers are crossed for good weather.

The seniors’ roll-up was a Team Stableford Par 5 Challenge, the format being one score to count on par three’s, two scores on par four’s and all scores on par five’s.

Playing in teams of three, Doug Budgen with Ray Dwan and Alan Stone won the competition returning 100 points.

The runners-up were Martin Creed, John Man and Roy Barber (92), whilst Derek Knights, Norman Baker and David Morris with 86 took third place.

The weekend competition, an American Greensomes, played in pairs, had a great turnout with 74 players taking part.

Coming in with 46 points, Garry Batten and Robert Lake headed the field, followed by Paul Crocock and Alex Freer on 44.

There was a tie for third place, but, on countback, Paul Crafter and Martyn Stevens (43) took the honour ahead of John Collier-Marsh and Colin Wilson.
