Withycombe Under-8s end with honours even in trio of matches with Topsham

Withycombe Under-8s entertained Topsham in their latest round of matches.

One significant factor that quickly became apparent was that the visitors pitched up with a whopping 25 players, whilst hosts Withy had a squad of ten!

The two teams played three matches.

The opening game set the tone for a splendid morning of youth rugby with Withy edged out by the odd score in seventeen at 9-8!

Game two saw a similar score, this time in favour of the Withy and the third game, fittingly, ended all square at 8-8.

The Withy scorers across the three games were Joe Gosling, Jayden Marles, Jack Graves, Ebony Mardle, Lewis Alford, Freddie Burnard and Baxter Williams.

There was a very warm welcome handed out to Luke Crompton who made his first appearance for the side.

Next up for Withy is a November 4, visit to Honiton.
