Exmouth United Under-10s secured an opening day win and a draw in meetings with Dawlish United and Newton Town.
First up against Dawlish United the opposition started brightly, using the flanks to great effect and forcing United keeper George Phillips to make a couple of smart saves. The deadlock was broken thanks to the determination of Harry Williams as he provided the assist for Kyle Pearcey to open the scoring.
Williams then played a delightful ball wide to Jared Guy who beat his marker and crossed for Kien Davey to slot home. More slick passing led to three further foals with Dawlish getting a late consolation and United securing a 5-1 victory.
Against Newton Town United fell two behind before coming back strongly with two goals of their own. There was a chance to win the game late on, but the Newton keeper saved a penalty to ensure honours ended even.
