Brixington Blues Under-10s were double winners in a couple of high scoring Exeter Youth League matches against sides from Colyton, writes Alan Diprose.
Throughout last season just one member of the Blues squad failed to register a goal and he was one of the scorers!
Owen Shaw is the young player in question and he tucked away one of the nap hand that saw Blues to a 4-3 win over Colyton Redsocks.
First up Blues took on Colyton Raiders and striker Will White gave them a superb start with a hat-trick inside the first six minutes!
Rather than that give Blues the platform to go on and bag a big win, Colyton battled back superbly and scored four times themselves to take a deserved lead!
White though was not finished and he slammed in two more, his fifth coming in the final minute, to seal a fabulous victory.
The Blues then defeated Colyton Redsocks by the odd goal in seven.
After Redsocks took an early lead, the prolific White restored parity from the penalty spot after he was felled in the area. Colyton again took the lead before Sam Diprose cleverly beat the ‘keeper, and Will White notched again to give Blues a half-time 3-2 lead.
After the break the action swung from end to end. Colyton squared things up at 3-3 before Owen Shaw picked the ball up in an advanced position, cut inside and un-leashed a fierce drive that proved to be the winner!
