Wasps 91, Sidmouth Toucans 25
With the summer over Wasps were happy to get back into the swing of netball and looking forward to the new season ahead with a number of new teams to come up against.
Their first game of the season was against Sidmouth Toucans who were returning after a season out.
Things took off at a fantastic pace and goals were being fired in at a fast and furious pace.
Toucans’ new signing, Kristy Platt, in the shooting area had an influence with her being over six feet tall but with great teamwork between Wasps defenders, Louise Passmore and Sarah Harris, she had little goal scoring opportunities.
It was a very friendly game throughout and Toucans never gave up the fight but unfortunately for them Wasps were that little bit too much and they came away winning the game 91 goals to 25.
Players of the match: Wasps; Nicola Field (goal attack) and Gemma Downing (centre); Toucans; Jo White (wing defence)
