The Woodbury Park seniors’ roll-up was a par-five challenge, writes Carole Pye.
Contested by teams of three it was won by the trio of Terry Welsh, Peter Stone and Derek Knights with an excellent 82 points.
Simon Davies, John Lott and Bill Mason (75) were the runners-up.
The mid-week stableford competition was won by Colin Stevens with a very respectable 43.
After countback Steven Tombs (39) edged out Steve Newman and Simon Weare to take second place.
Trevor Hibberd, one of the clubs stalwarts died suddenly earlier this year and the company he worked for were very keen to have a memorial competition in memory of this very popular man. The Trevor Hibberd Trophy took place last weekend and the turnout was as expected excellent, resulting in over 100 players taking part.
With three players vying for the first place David Cooling, after count-back, won the first division with 37 points; John Breading was second, edging out Tony Palmer.
Chris Turner (39) claimed the second division, and the trophy, ahead of Murray Jessamine on 37.
The third division winner, John Fuller, had 38 points whilst Stuart O’Higgins was runner-up with 36 points.
Norma Foster (32) won the ladies’ Silver division followed by Angela Mullerworth’s 31.
The winning score for the Bronze division came from Paula Cowl (34); she was also the winner of the ladies’ trophy ahead of Kay Foster on 32.
