Fourteen Exmouth students entered the local competition, Southern Championships.

For no fewer than eleven of the students it was their first taste of competitive action!

Three picked up bronze medals with Rachel Johnson, Joe Macefield and Phoebe Holman the recipients.

Instructor Katie Southard, who also entered this competition for the first time, landed a silver medal.

Southard said: “I am so proud of all the students who entered!

It’s such a nerve wracking thing to enter a competition for the first time and to get such a great number of us there, and doing well, is brilliant!’

Martial art classes run on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s at Exmouth High School.
