Exmouth Town star Kyle Bassett made his debut last Saturday for Barnstaple Town in a Toolstation League, Premier Division game against Bridport.
Town continue to hold his registration for Peninsula league games when he is not required by the Western league outfit, as they also do with Khaled Badavi who is at Willand Rovers.
Peninsula League officials were present at Town’s Southern Road headquarters last week to conduct an inspection to see if the facilities were up to the standard required by the league.
This is with regard to any application for promotion that may yet come from Town, dependent of course on them securing a top two finish.
Should champions elect Liverton decline promotion then Town, by finishing second, could make the step up.
Further evidence of the growing ambition at Southern Road comes with news that they hope to enter the FA Vase next season.
Back to young Bassett and that debut for Barum – he played a big part in a 3-0 victory for his new team.
