In the Wednesday Over-60s men’s league the A team’s win against Pinces Gardens maintained their pressure on the leaders. The B team managed a very important win to help in their relegation fight. They beat Heavitree C 45-29 and the eight points gained moves them above Heavitree in the league. The C team lost all the points to Seaton. Finally the D team had a comfortable win against Ottery St Mary. The final game in the league will be played next week and all will be resolved. Friday saw the final game for the season in the Exeter and District ladies evening league in which Topsham played Feniton away. The game was played in wet difficult conditions and it was agreed to play only 18 ends. A soggy Topsham team eventually won the game 43-34. This was the last game of the season for the team who have finished a creditable fourth in the table.
Topsham went to Dawlish Lawn on Sunday, but not to feed the ducks, they were there to play bowls in an eagerly awaited friendly. Unfortunately Topsham was the dish of the day and they were well beaten on all rinks!
However, it was a good afternoon and our hosts provided an excellent tea that was appreciated by all.
