With the clubhouse undergoing refurbishment, and the green in its usual excellent condition due to the hard work of David Tucker and his willing team, Topsham bowls club are eagerly awaiting the start for their new season and hoping for the success they had in 2013, when they won the prestigious Exeter and District league, writes Coli Chudley.

Under the leadership of their new president Carol Horgan and new captains Pete Greeno and Ann Sandford the club is confident that 2014 will be successful and more importantly enjoyable. The Green will officially open on Saturday April 26, with the usual captains versus presidents game.

The first friendly game will be away to Kings BC Torquay on Wednesday April 23. There will be an open day Sunday May 4, from 10am to 1pm and Wednesday May 7, from 6.30pm when anyone interested in the game will be able to try it free of charge; all the equipment will be provided.

All you will need is a smile and a pair of flat shoes.
