Exmouth Snooker League leaders, East Budleigh A slumped to a 4 frames to 1 defeat at home at the hands of the Police Social Club C.
Graham Ward 83-53 gained their only point, but, the wins for Steve Spinner 51-50, John Parrott 61-29, Cyril Evans 66-58 and Ray Sturman 65-44 lifted the visitors into second place, just two points off the top spot.
Police A spurned their chance of catching the leaders after taking the opening frames from Carl Rowsell 93-72 and George Webster 74-36.
They slipped to third place as Jonathan Duck 86-41, John Sharland 66-28 and Russell Frame 66-47 took the Number Nine B up to 4th, place, still with a game in hand.
East Budleigh C drop to 5th, despite winning at the Number Nine A.
They twice trailed to Iain Callander 65-54 and Peter Taylor 53-43, before Mark Oliver 47-35, Barry Bentley 78-71 set up Leo Dolling 71-29 for the deciding frame.
Otterton A remain at the foot of the table, despite winning at the Police B.
Two nil down to Frank Kelsey 51-38 and Tom Caygill 65-57, Morley Martin 64-20, Clive Parnell 52-32 and Patrick Long 59-40 clinched their third win to date.
