The recent cold spell does not seem to have affected the enthusiasm of Exmouth Harriers members for getting out there and running, writes Dave Eveleigh.
Five local runners tackled the Exeter Half-Marathon.
Not to be confused with the Great West Run, this took place on a flat course around the River Exe and Exeter Canal.
While not as difficult to tackle underfoot as cross country this race, at 13.1 miles, was of course much further than the one at Bovey.
There were 268 finishers. Ellie Sutcliffe was 18th overall, first female and first Exmouth Harrier.
Ellie’s time of 84:29 suggests that she continues to be capable of a sub-3 hour Marathon should she feel ready to take on that challenge.
Chris Dupain was 33rd in 88;26, Emma Dupain 64th in 96:26, Ben White sneaked in under 100 minutes with 99:01 in 96th position and Trevor Cope added to his collection with a time of 2:34:40 in 264th.
