The recent inclement weather has proved a real challenge for both the Woodbury Park golfers and the green keeping staff, writes Carole Pye.

However, a welcome appearance of the sun enabled the weekend competition, an ‘Individual Stableford’, to go ahead with a strong turnout.

The first division winner, Derrick Sullivan, claimed poll position with an impressive 47 points, ahead of Matthew Bavington who was the runner-up on 41.

Ceri (Taff) Lewis took the second division, scoring 42; Barry Cross’s 39 gave him second place.

With a score of 43 Pete Beaven took the third division, Aston Mills was close behind on 42.

Sara Beaven comfortably took the ladies’ division scoring 40 points with Angela Mullerworth runner-up on 32.
