The Budleigh Buzzards played twice and experienced mixed fortunes.

First up they edged out Sidmouth by a single shot in a seriously close encounter. Rod Freer, Alan Purdham and John Vanstone shocked their Sidmouth opponents with a flying start that saw them race into an 8-0 lead after just two ends!

They were pegged back a little but still emerged with a five shot victory.

In the second fixture, their opponents from Exonia, won comfortably on both rinks and continue to challenge the Madeira Blues for the league leadership.

In the Budleigh Club Championships there were singles wins for Burges Stace and David Tomlinson. Ably partnered by Rod Freer, Burges is also through to the next round of the pair’s competition having knocked out Richard Cooper and Don Huish 19-17.

Joining them in the semi-finals are John Dill and Tim Holding who cruised through their match with impressive ease.
