A date and venue have been conformed for the 2014 Rowing South Coast Championships.
They are to be hosted by the Hants and Dorset Amateur Rowing Association and will take place over the weekend of September 13 and 14 in Swanage, Dorset.
It will be the 58th staging of the prestigious event and, and with the emergence and growing support for junior races, will include a number of contests in the Sunday in various sizes of boats.
The main championship races together with the open senior fours will be held on the Saturday, but if bad weather strikes the venue and the alternative course was not suitable, then main races would move to the Sunday and take priority over all other races.
Unfortunately for West of England clubs, all racing on both days will be held in the wider and heavier coastal-style boats, which are used at all races by the other two associations and which always leaves local crews at a disadvantage.
