Aberystwyth University and N1 Tri Club member James Sibley, who lives in Seaton, was on superb form when he took part in the London Triathlon.

This is an Olympic distance race being (1.5km swim, 40km bike and 10km run; the same distance that the Brownlees compete in!)

It is a hugely popular event as it is staged in the capital city and features riding along the banks of the Thames on closed roads.

Sibley was making his first effort at the distance and he was outstanding!

He covered the distance in a time of 2:26:09 to land 699th place of some 4500 racers.

However, the truly remarkable fact was that Sibley managed to get second place in the 17 to 19 age group.
