Wellington 0, East Budleigh 2
This was certainly a Good Friday for East Budleigh who produced an excellent display to beat third in the table Wellington, writes Mark Auton.
Josh Sale struck twice for a Budleigh side who worked tirelessly closing down the hosts with a tenacious work ethic.
Overall the possession stats weighed 60-40 in favour of the home side, but Budleigh restricted their opponents thanks largely to Man of the Match Phil Page.
In the second half Budleigh broke the deadlock midway through when Aiden Martin was clipped inside the area; Wellington were reduced to ten men and it was Sale who calmly converted the resultant spot kick.
Martin and Darren Dawes were working the flanks well and with Dan Reynolds and Mike White strong in the midfield, it was the latter who slotted a pass through for Sale who cut back inside before firing a shot under the keeper to seal the points.
With confidence high Budleigh visit Cullompton on Saturday, before a trip to Heavitree next Tuesday (6.45pm).
