Withycombe young rugby players recently handed over a cheque to the tune of £200 to Roger Haywood of the Wooden Spoon charity.

The youngsters did a sponsored cycle ride at the start of the season to raise funds for a tour.

In all they raised some £1,400 and wanted to also purchase some training gear, but also help a local cause.

The tour is planned for next season when the team plan a long weekend in London to take in a Rugby Premiership match.

The Withycombe youngsters also had their end of season presentations at which Exeter Chiefs star James Hanks was on hand to present the trophies.
