When England faced Samoa last Saturday, Withycombe Under-12 player Kieran Long had the honour of being a mascot.

Kieran was with the teams as they came out from the tunnel and went onto the pitch with them for the singing of the national anthem in front of 80,000 spectators.

To make the day extra special, Kieran ran out with Exeter Chiefs’ star Sam Simmonds, who was making his first England start.

Young Kieran said: “In the tunnel we couldn’t decide who was the more nervous. It was a wonderful day, one I shall remember for a long time.”
