Withy put visiting Plymouth Argaum to the sword

Withycombe warmed up for Wednesday night’s Intermediate Shield meeting with Plymstock Albion Oaks with a thumping 82-0 win over Plymouth Argaum.

Withy scored 43 points before the break and added another 39 unanswered points in the second half.

Five different players scored a brace of tries and there were three other players to cross the whitewash.

The try scorers were: Sammy Sansom (2), Ben West (2), Max Cooke (2), John Parkin (2), Tony Papp (2), Connor O’Shaughnessy, Alex Taylor and Sam Warren and there was also a penalty try.

Six of the 14 tries were converted, four of them by Glenn Channing and one each by Papp and O’Shaughnessy.

Withy complete their Tribute Cornwall and Devon campaign on Saturday (April 21) with a trip to Bude.
