Boxing Day rugby at Withycombe

Archant

Withycombe sat out the first Saturday of the new year when their Tribute Cornwall and Devon match, like all but one of the scheduled games in the section, fell foul of the weather.

The only match to be played was at Crediton where Hayle were beaten 37-16.

On Saturday Withy travel to Saltash looking to complete the double over the Duchy side after they beat them 22-10 when the pair met at Raleigh Park on September 28.

The omens for another Withy success on the road are good!

Saltash have so far been unable to beat and Devon visiting side this term in the league as they have been beaten by University and Honiton and shared 76 points with Crediton. In contrast, the Saltash home record against fellow Cornish sides is exceptional!

Withy already have wins in Cornwall at Falmouth, Hayle, Veor and Newquay.

Both sides will be keen just to get out onto the park for neither has played since December 14 when Saltash lost at Pirates Amateurs and Withy went down at all-conquering Exeter University.

The latest Tribute Cornwall and Devon table.
