Archant

Withycombe Under-10s enjoyed their visit to Honiton where they recorded an emphatic 17-2 success.

Withy travelled with a dozen players for the derby match.

The team served up a competent display of tackling, rucking and passing that saw them dominate in all areas of the pitch throughout.

Despite the score line, Honiton put up dogged defence and put Withy under some pressure early in the second half.

Withy held a 9-1 lead at the break and added eight more scores in the second half whilst the hosts bagged a second score.

It was an excellent team effort with lots of industry and effort from all to repeatedly secure possession from which to launch successful attacks.

The try scorers were; Ben Wilkinson (5), Will Jones (3), Jayden Gore (3), Tom Humphry (2), Will Cornish (2), Matthew Edworthy and Will Cooper.

The award for Players of the Match went to Eddie Warlow for great rucking and to Will Cooper for a good all-round play.
