Topsham Colts travelled to Exmouth with just 15 players.

The expected hugely competitive game ensued with Topsham having the better of territory and possession, out Exmouth equal to everything the visitors could muster.

The Cockles struck first with a penalty. Towards the end of the first half things got over competitive with the referee inviting two Tops’ players to take a 10-minute breather! Ironically, it was with 13 men that Topsham then finally managed to break down Exmouth’s defence and go into half time with a 5–3 lead.

The second half was a similar game with Exmouth rock solid in defence and looking dangerous on the counter.

Topsham however broke through to score and go 10–3 up, but Exmouth countered with a try of their own making it 10– 8.

The last five minutes could have gone either way, but fortune was with the visitors’ who celebrated d a superb success sat the final whistle.
