Rugby referee recruiting evening cancelled.

10:52 17 April 2014

A referee recruiting evening scheduled to take place at Teignmouth next week has been postponed as one of the speakers is not available, writes Conrad Sutcliffe.

The Devon Rugby Referees’ Society has arranged an open meeting at Teignmouth on Wednesday, April 26 to attract new members.

There have been Saturday’s during the current season when the Society has not had enough refs to cover every game in the county.

Premiership whistleman Luke Pearce from Exeter was going to talk about is rise through the refereeing ladder from Buckastleigh Ramblers 2nd XV to the likes of Bath, Gloucester and Bristol every week.

Unfortunately, Twickenham have a job for Pearce the same night, which has meant postponing the meeting until a new date can be found.
