Archant

There were mixed fortunes for our two rugby sides on the first Saturday of October.

Exmouth marched on with a 58-10 home triumph over Amersham with Andrew Powell bagging an impressive 28 points!

Powell scored a hat-trick of tries whilst Jack Downie bagged a brace and there were also four other separate Cockles’ try scorers.

No such joy for Withycombe as they lost for the second time in six Cornwall and Devon league outings, beaten 32-5 at St Ives.

Withy’s only score was a Neil Williams try.

Read match reports fro both the Cockles ands the Withy games’ in this week’s Exmouth Journal (out on Thursday, October 11).
