Archant

Withycombe Under 8`s enjoyed the better of two games with neighbours Exmouth, landing 12-10 and 11-9 victories.

The first game saw both sides began at good tempo and it did not take long for both teams to celebrate opening scores.

The support play and tagging of both sets of youngsters was a pleasure to witness and much appreciated by another good turn-out of supporters.

Withy went into the break with a small advantage.

The second half started in similar fashion to the first and Charlie Passmore was at the centre of much of the Withy attacking play.

Young Passmore ran in four tries after the break. It was no one-man show though for other Withy players shone just as brightly.

None more so than hat-trick scorer Harry Bennett whilst the other Withy scorers were Paddy Mcguiness (2), Sam Skinner, Ollie Hempstead and the ever-improving James Griffin as Withycombe bagged a 12-10 victory.
