Jayden bags treble as young Withy share spoils with an excellent Kingsbridge side.

Withycombe Under-7s entertained Kingsbridge on a very heavy surface.
What became very clear was that the opposition were certainly the best team that the young Withy side has come across this season!
The second of two games saw the Withy youngsters play very much to their new team motto of: “If you do not give up then you cannot fail!”
From the opening whistle the Withy attacking play had real intent about it. There was some terrific support play at both ends of the pitch, particularly when Withy were attacking.
Kingsbridge notched three first half tries but Withy were well in the game at the break, trailing by the odd score in five thanks to tries from Jaydan Marles and Tom Waiton.
After the break the Withy youngsters served up their finest ten minute spell of the season to date.
Tries were exchanged throughout the half with Ebony, Lewis and Baxter all once again gracing the score sheet. This game will be remembered for an excellent team effort that saw all players produce excellent rugby in very difficult conditions and fittingly, honours ended even at 7-7.
The Withy try scorers were Jaydan Marles (3), Tom Waiton, Ebony Marles, Lewis Alford and Baxter Williams.
Jaydan Marles was named the Withy Man of the Match for his exceptional effort in attack and defence including one length of the pitch run to chase down an attacker and get the tag!
Mention also should be made of the contribution of Chloe Lewis who impressed in her first start. There was also a big warm welcome back to Thomas Lawrence, now fully recovered from a broken arm and special praise also for Ebony Mardle and Joe Gosling who both put in a shift despite feeling poorly.
