After all the rain and snow over the past few weeks, Exmouth RFC were blessed with glorious sunshine for a superb festival of junior rugby, to the delight of the many spectators, writes Jan McCarthy.

Touring side Kingswood, from Bristol, brought teams from Under 6 to Under 12 and boys Under 16 and girls Under 13 and Under 15. Withycombe also brought Under 7s and Under 8s teams while Plymouth Albion Oaks also joined in with an Under 11s team.

With over 1,000 players and spectators, thanks must go to all the volunteers who provided tea and coffee, bacon rolls and chips, selling cakes and serving players meals. Special thanks to our groundsman Roger Holman, who worked tirelessly during the week on the pitches and also to the junior coaches who on Saturday helped get the ground fit to play.

It really was a joy to see so many youngsters enjoying the great game of rugby.
