Sixteen members of the Budleigh Salterton Croquet Club bowling section took part in a special event at the club, writes David Roberts.

They contested the Evan’s Cup fun day in a format of eight sets of pairs with half the matches played in the morning and the other half contested after a sumptuous luncheon.

The winners of the morning’s session were Margaret Ringsell and Keith Stidder who were undefeated in all three matches.

The afternoon winners were Rona Rush and Trevor Hunt.

The final saw Ringsell and Stidder secure an 8-7 victory in a closely contested match.

Thanks are due to Gordon and Anne Marshall for organising the event.
