The latest round of matches in the Exmouth Netball League saw injury and illness strike leaving several teams fielding very different teams and players playing out of position, writes Lucy Burch.

However, the standard of play was as high as normal and the two matches that evening were highly contested with close score lines in both.

The closest of the two matches saw assent beat cougars by just a single goal margin, 42-41 with the Player of the Match award going to Assent shooter and captain Claire Hodge and Cougars goal keeper Ellie Wilson.

The other match of the night saw table-topping Replay meet Exejets.

Replay were hit by a number of missing players nursing illness and they were forced into changes that saw Janko Salzwedel and Joanne Channing step up to the shooter roles for their team, despite this not being their preferred positions.

The match was hard fought, but Replay were organised and disciplined and emerged as the 38-27 winners.

In this contest the Player of the Match awards went to Sorrell Rawlings for Replay and Shelley Brookes for Exejets.
