The second Purbeck Marathon is being run next month and, whilst there are still entries being taken, the race is expected to be full by the end of the month.
Interest has been considerable since the success of the inaugural race last year, with the word-of-mouth endorsements of the challenging, but scenic, course enhanced by the event’s ranking in Runner’s World magazine as the third best marathon in the UK in 2012.
The race, which starts and finishes in Swanage and includes nearly 3,000 feet of climbs, is a predominantly off-road marathon that is both challenging and rewarding.
It takes place on Sunday, September 15.
