EXETER Racecourse’s renowned children’s day, which is free to all children aged 17 and under and Pony Club members, takes place on Monday, April 18. The event is sponsored by Finlake Holiday Park and is widely regarded as one of the best days out for children in the Easter Holidays.
As well as free goody bags for every child who attends, the day also includes a course tour, questions and answers with top jockeys, the famous running race down the straight, quizzes, work sheets and the chance to get autographs from favourite jockeys.
Former jockey Ollie McPhail from the British Horseracing Education and Standards Trust will take the children on a behind the scenes tour and the British Racing School will be bringing its Equine Simulator to give children a taste of race riding.
Also on the agenda are racing ferrets and the Quack Pack as well as six races to enjoy the first of which is off at 2.10pm.
All children under 16 and Pony Club members attend free and goody bags will be distributed on a strictly first come first served basis.
A pre-booked family ticket of two adults for £20, children aged 17 and under and Pony Club members free, is available by calling the hotline on 0844 5793005.
