Police Social Club A are the first team to record a maximum point’s win in the Exmouth Snooker League this season.
Mark Rock 97-71, Carl Rowsell 84-54, George Webster 74-31, Mick Jordan 53-46 and Pete Abrahams 67-45 beat Otterton A to take a share at the top of the table.
They are joined by East Budleigh A as Dave Hawkins 58-54, Mark Auton 75-27, Graham Ward 72-65 and Gordon Benzie 69-57 with three black-ball finishes were denied an outright lead at the top by Paul Hayman 75-21 of East Budleigh C.
With consecutive breaks of 25 an15, Pete Gibson won the opening frame for the Police B (64-24) against their own C team.
However, this was to be their only success as Cyril Evans 49-39, Ray Sturman 61-35, John Parrott 74-62 and John Evens 53-42 won the remaining four points to give the Police C their first win so far.
