The Exeter and District Youth League have issued a notice to all member clubs of matters that do need their attention, especially regarding health and safety.
At one venue a match referee, whilst walking the pitch pre-match to check for any problems, discovered a dumped syringe with the needle exposed and the covering cap hanging loose.
It was handed to the home coach to safely dispose of as it was not suitable to be placed in the standard bins! In another incident there was a problem where a visiting supporting parent had attended with a dog a ground where it was clearly marked that dogs are not allowed.
The league would like to ask all visiting teams to check before hand if the venue they are playing at are happy to have dogs on the touchline.
There was also a case in a league game this past weekend where one team had to pick up a dozen bags of dogs mess prior to playing!
