Colaton Raleigh 7, Beacon Knights 3
Raleigh served up a performance of two contrasting halves before eventually easing their way into the next round of the Firewatch Devon Senior Cup.
The difference in the first half was the presence of former Ottery striker Chris Down who netted a superb treble to send Raleigh into the break trailing 3-1.
Mark Pavey netted a 20-yard volley to send Raleigh into the break with some hope. The second half was all Raleigh.
They were back in it when Adrian Parr struck a cross-shot beyond the keeper and then level when Damian Armes headed in a free kick from Matt Tett.
The comeback was completed when Ben Farrington played in player/manager Riki Pitter who slid the ball home from twelve yards to give his side the advantage for the first time.
A sweeping move then ended with Pitter scoring again in the 68th minute.
The visitors cause was not helped when a player saw red for talking out of turn when contesting a decision and things got even worse for the Exeter side when Mark Pavey powered in a header from a Parr corner kick in the 75th minute.
Pitter completed the scoring and put a polished finish on proceedings with his side’s seventh and final goal bringing up his hat-trick with a fierce shot from the edge of the area.
This Saturday Colaton Raleigh host local rivals Woodbury in the Bill Slee Cup (2pm).
