Archant

With the cancellation of a friendly fixture against Devon Masonic Phear Park took the opportunity to play their Captains Day match, writes Rob Mottershead.

The format of the match being different from usual in that a yard stick was used to measure and all shots falling within a yard arc of the jack being counted.

Eight teams of triples Park bowlers took to the green in the round robin match. Competition was both fierce and scores close.

It was however, the triple of Kay Beresford, Ron Rooke and skip Rob Mottershead who came home with a narrow one shot overall victory even though they dropped three shots on the very last end.

All appeared to enjoy the change in rules and the banter on the green. A tea followed where club the captain stated that much had been achieved during the season and all Park bowlers passed on their thanks to Margo for all her hard work.
