Otterton Church of England Primary School pupils are celebrating a sports victory having beaten off competition from much larger schools to reach the final of the East Devon Tag Rugby Tournament.

The school won all the games it played in the tournament held at the Kings School, Ottery St Mary, on Wednesday, April 25, and will now be representing East Devon with Withycombe Raleigh Primary School at the Devon School Summer Games.

The team will travel to Plymouth on Wednesday, June 20, for the games event which is one of several being held across the country to motivate and inspire millions of young people to take part in more competitive school sport.

The triumph for school, which is part of the Raleigh Federation, follows the recent success of its pupil Ollie Batson who came first in the Exmouth Learning Community’s Yr 5 and 6 cross country event held at Bicton Arena.
