Runner Matthew Menary of Haldon Trail Runners emerged victorious from a competitive field in Otterton’s annual 10km Reindeer Run race.

Matthew won the overall race in a time of 38:06 to take the Rudolph trophy, hand made by Exmouth’s Alex J Hopkins-Hayward, ahead of second-placed runner Drew Oliphant (38:16) and third placed runner Ben Stone (38:27).

Ellie Dominey (42:32) was the winning female runner, followed by Catherine Cole (43:58) and Karen Eyre (44:14).

The junior winner (under 17) was Ben Sheridan (39:44).

The Veteran winner (over 50) was Simon Scotthorne (40:41).

The 3km race winners were Ollie Batson, age 10 (13:43) from Otterton Primary school, with Sebastian Copp, aged 11 (14:04) in second.

The first girls across the line were Katie Harries (14:20), followed by Jessica Creasey (16.15).
