For the third successive year, Fully Sussed Mountain Bike Academy is bringing a day of cross country mountain bike racing to Woodbury Common.

The event this year takes place this Sunday (March 4).

The venue has proved to be extremely popular in recent years with the Terrain providing a fantastic all-weather riding experience. New for 2012 is the emphasis on women and under-16 racing. All women’s prizes are being by sponsored by Specialized, a leading bike company, and there will be a unique prize per round of be-spoke bike related jewellery from Fine Fettle Jewellery, awarded for outstanding performance.

The Under-16s will be getting a full day of racing, starting at 10am

with timed speed skills sections, followed at 1pm by a short course cross country race.

Combined times from the morning and afternoon sessions will determine the overall position for each rider at the end of the event. The aim is to improve the skill level of the young riders to help them shine on a National stage. There will be prizes for all podium winners and a special prize for the most improved rider.

There will be categories for all senior riders, who start their race at 10am. The race start will be on the Four Firs to Yettington road and so there will be additional pressure on parking, slow moving traffic and cyclists on the road in this area between 8am and 2pm. It is possible to enter on the day and on-line entry can also be done by visiting

www.fullysussed.co.uk where you an also find more details about the event.
