Exmouth Sea Angling Association’s April Wednesday League got underway in mild sea conditions but with a brisk wind blowing, writes Rob Pennell.

However, everyone involved caught several species of fish and Paul Rowe nearly catching double figures in terms of dog fish!

The overall winner on the night was Shane Milliner with a sizeable smoothound that helped him secure 11 points and first place.

Paul Rowe was second with 10 points and Ken Williams was third with nine. The best of the rest was Dave Thoburn with eight.

Next month the meeting will be at Branscombe beach fishing a neap tide up.

The Open Weekend competition saw most competitors try to find a place to fish out of the wind locally, but the fish were hiding as well!

A few went further afield and caught more fish which led the Brian Reed taking top spot with Mike Richardson second and David Curries third.
