Miller runs to silver at Devon Track and Field Championships in Plymouth

PUBLISHED: 11:53 29 May 2014

Three Exmouth Harrier members were at the Devon Track and Field Championships in Plymouth, writes Dave Eveleigh.

Second claim member Tom Merson stormed to victories by a large margin in both the 3000m (time of around 8:50) and 1500m (around 4:10).

Adam Miller ran his first senior 1500m in 4:25, an inaugural personal best time.

With Merson disappearing into the distance half-a-dozen were left to battle for the silver medal.

Miller got himself into a good position and pushed himself to the limit down the home straight to finish second behind Merson.

Miller also picked up an Over 35 men’s gold medal. In the 3000m Dave Eveleigh was at the back of the field, but was second Over 60 and, with an excellent 11:59 clocking, was well inside the 13 minutes standard which entitled him to collect a medal even against limited opposition!
